The
Parish Council met 6th September 2010 in the Thornton Hunt Inn. Six
councillors attended including the Chair Cllr. Grainger and five members
of the village were present. The
Playing Field committee had held their inaugural meeting and minutes were
made available. The committee members then
discussed various issues with the parish council who will support them in
every way possible, Cllr Mrs Spink will be the parish councils
representative at the playing field committee meetings. Parish Emergency Plan – all existing
committee members have agreed to be re-appointed. Dog bins – The village dog bin has
disappeared so a request has been submitted for a replacement. There is a problem with satellite
navigation systems directing heavy vehicles along Burnham Lane and Dam
Lane to and from Barton, several of these vehicles have found Dam Lane
non-negotiable and had to reverse a considerable distance. This matter has
been discussed with North Lincs to find a solution, it has been requested
by a resident, that a weight limit be introduced, more discussions will be
held with NLC. The footpaths along Station Road need to
be treated for weeds and also residents will be asked to trim their hedges
which are encroaching on to the path. The next parish council meeting will be
held at 8.00pm Monday 1st November in the Thornton Hunt Inn,
all village residents are very welcome to attend
