The first meeting of 2009 took place 12th January at 8pm in
the Thornton Hunt In. Six Parish Councillors were present including Cllr. Brixton the Chair. Mrs. Spink was co-opted to fill the vacancy left after the resignation of
E. Davey. The Emergency Plan was discussed and it was agreed to have a plan however
it was felt North Lincs. questionnaire be revised; a sub committee set up to
orchestrate what will happen. At last!! Station Roadfootpath has been completed and there have been
positive responses from the residents of Thornton Curtis. The Parish Council were informed that the R.D.P.leader programme local
action group, is holding a number of 'surgeries' and that there is an
availability of funding. There have been some cancellations on the Barton train service due to
staffing problems; hopefully this has now been resolved. The footpath to Wootton on the 1077, or rather the lack of one, remains a
problem. North Lines state there has never been a footpath although several of
Thornton Cutis's residents can recall one being there. The next meeting of Thornton Curtis Parish Council will be held Monday 2nd
March 2009 at 8.pm in the Thornton Hunt ALL WELCOME
